Content Description

He sends correspondence from Alfred Gilbert relating to his wish to have a teaching position at the British School at Rome. He stresses Gilbert's honesty and gives his own explanation for the root of Gilbert's problems with money, that he always spent more on a work than he received it, that others, including Herkomer tried to "manage" him. Many men would support him and all the Academy sculptors, apart from Frampton.
