Provenance

The Committee was appointed by Council on 18 December 1871. Cope's scheme included proposals that the Keeper should be non-resident, the Secretary a non-member, and the duties of Sub-Librarian added to those of the Bursar. Meetings of the Committee began on 2 February 1872.
