Concerning his early education, removal to Nivelles with his father to study sculpture, journey to Paris to study at the Academie Royale, where he won a silver medal. Then details his journey through Italy, his winning of a gold medal premium from the Pope, and return to England in the company of Cipriani and Sir William Chambers.
