Eden had previously been informed by
Sir Walter Lamb that the RA was not in position to stage an exhibition of paintings by Brazilian artists, which had presented to the Govenment in recognition of Britain's war effort. However, it had become apparent that no other institution was in a position to hold the exhibition, so Eden appeals once again, to Munnings, to allow the staging of the exhibition at the RA for three weeks from mid-November. It would be carefully stated in all publicity that the works had been presented through the Brazilian government, and no responsibilty for selection lay with the Council.
