Content Description

She held off writing to him until she had settled into her new position. But for one servant claiming she was a proud woman she has met with utter success and has the support of the governors. She dealt with several matters of abuse but has met with "ill-principle, ignorance and prejudice', she has reduced the establishment by three servants.

She recounts her daily routine at the hospital in detail and bemoans the "rusticity" of her companions and the lack of the sort of rational conversation that Humphry introduced her to.

She has heard from her City friends, Revd. & Mrs Abdy who say Mr Duppa's eyes are no better. She gratefully accepts his offer of a print as a gift and wishes he send it to Mr Duppa's at 34 Old Broad Street.
