Content Description

He wishes to come to talk about painting. He is in town on the 16th for the R.B.A. P.V.

Includes copy of the original humorous letter from Todd: He is glad Freeth liked the portraits, the crooked nose of one sitter looks "out of drawing", but what can one do. He went to an exhibition of watecolours by Dame Barbara Moor [sic] and thought her work equal to that of Sir Mortimer Wheeler [sic] President of the Academy Royal . Todd has some fun with the Oxford Dictionary definition of "Keeper" and then refers to Sir Charles Wheeler as the Chantrey bequest. The Academy used to be ruled by King Kelly.
