Content Description

Noting that the Annual register of December 1768 carried a good summary of the new institution and describing the first, modest, accommodation for the Academy; also that a lyric was composed to celebrate the occasion by Thomas Francklin.

On the reverse Anderdon notes that Reynolds's first discourse was uttered in an indistinct tone, which Sir Martin Shee later put down to his lip, injured at Minorca.
