Alumni Association: The Reynolds Club
The Reynolds Club
The RA Schools Alumni Association exists for past students of the RA Schools. At present, it has over 600 members and is an active body providing many benefits.
Background of the Reynolds Club
The RA Schools Alumni Association was created to maintain links between the Royal Academy Schools and its past students, for the benefit of the alumni, the Schools and the Royal Academy. Founded nearly fifty years ago as the Reynolds Club, it drew up its own constitution (which was revised and modernised in 1996), and still holds annual events, meetings and lectures, as well as distributing a newsletter to its members. The present council consists of 12 members and 6 committee members.
Objectives:
- to provide a newsletter for all alumni (approx 1,400 on file) at least twice a year
- to create a comprehensive database of past students and their activities
- to provide an annual reunion and other social events where members can meet
- to arrange exhibitions of members' work
- to give an annual student prize
- to find ways of encouraging donations to the schools from the alumni through scholarships, bequests, foundations
