Fine Rooms Opening Arrangements

The John Madejski Fine Rooms are open by guided tour only. Tours are free and last for one hour. No booking is required. Please meet in the Royal Academy Entrance Hall if you would like to attend.

Tours are held at the following times:

Tuesday: 1pm
Wednesday: 1pm & 3pm
Thursday: 1pm & 3pm
Friday: 1pm & 3pm
Saturday: 11.30am

The Tennant Gallery is one of the John Madejski Fine Rooms and is open to the public at the following times:

Tuesday – Sunday: 10am – 6pm
Closed Monday
Free admission

Tours for Friends

On the first Sunday of every month there is a 60 minute Welcome Tour for new Friends, highlighting the John Madejski Fine Rooms and works from the permanent collection. Please meet in the Royal Academy Entrance Hall if you would like to attend.

View Art Late

The Royal Academy of Arts is open until 10pm every Friday, offering excellent evening access to exhibitions, lectures, talks and tours.

The Restaurant at the Royal Academy of Arts is open until 11pm on Friday and Saturday nights.

Save £10 on your Friends Membership!

Standard and Joint Friends of the RA can save £10 on their membership purchase by opting to pay by Direct Debit.

Direct Debit payments are much easier and cheaper for us to process, so we can offer you a considerable saving on your Friends membership!

For as little as £90 (Standard) or £130 (Joint) you and your guests can enjoy all the wonderful benefits that Friends membership allows; including free entry for you, an adult family guest and up to four family children (under the age of 16 each) time you visit!

Guest Pass

Friends of the Royal Academy can get a Guest Pass for just £15!

Each Friend is entitled to bring one family adult guest and four family children (under 16). For an extra £15 annually, you can bring another guest for the duration of your membership! Guest Passes are issued at the Friends desk. It’s great value for money, so ask at the Friends Desk next time you are visiting us.

Cloakroom Information

We regret that we cannot accept suitcases, hold-alls or backpacks in the cloakroom or in the Galleries. Items may be subject to search. Bags must be no larger than 280mm width by 380mm height and 400mm depth.
