In The Sackler Wing of Galleries, Burlington House
Michelangelo Buonarroti, The Virgin and Child with the Infant St John (Taddei Tondo), 1504–06. Marble, 1068 mm. Curator Helen Valentine gives a short introduction to the Taddei Tondo. This is the only marble by Michelangelo in Great Britain and was executed about 1504 to 1505 during his first Florentine period. The sculpture depicts the Virgin and Child with the Infant St John.
