A week at the Royal Academy Schools 2009

Drawing, etching and painting tuition

RA Schools studio

The Royal Academy Schools is very excited to offer an individual the opportunity to spend a week studying in this exceptional environment. No previous experience of art is required in order for you to become a RA student for a week; this is an opportunity for you to discover, explore and indulge your talent at any level.

You will attend a lecture by a visiting tutor, such as a Royal Academician, and experience the romantic 19th century Life Studio for a session of drawing, from the figure, in a class with an expert teacher. You will receive an introduction to the principles of etching by a distinguished RA printmaker and gain fascinating experience of digital printmaking. You will enjoy a mentored day of painting and be given personal advice and tuition to help unfurl your creativity. Throughout the week you will enjoy the camaraderie, encouragement and advice of the other students and staff.

Suitable candidates might vary from an aspiring student of art, an amateur or professional artist, a business person who has always nurtured a dream of being creative, or just anyone seeking the experience of a lifetime.

Subject to the Schools calendar, this week may be taken whenever you wish before the end of the 2010 academic year.
