Marlborough House
Friends Only
9 August 2011
We return to Marlborough House for our annual tours. Built by Sir Christopher Wren in 1711 for the first Duke of Marlborough, the house was taken up by the Crown in 1817 and is now the Headquarters of the Commonwealth. Our tour takes in the grounds and the Fine Rooms, where we see portraits by Allan Ramsay and Luke Fildes, ceiling paintings by Orazio Gentileschi, and works by the French decorative painter Louis Laguerre.
2.30–4.30pm
This event is also taking place on 3 August 2011
