The Hindu god Ganesha is the son of Shiva and Parvati. He has a man’s body and an elephant’s head, and he is seen as a symbol of luck to Hindu people. Many children rub his stomach for luck before taking exams.

Young visitors to the Chola exhibition drew themselves with the head of their favourite animal.
