Volunteer – Royal Academy Magazine

At least 3 days per week

An immediate opportunity has arisen for an unpaid volunteer to assist the Royal Academy of Arts Magazine. A visual arts magazine, published quarterly, we are looking for a bright, motivated and resourceful student, or recent graduate/postgraduate, with a demonstrable interest in journalism and visual art, who is eager to gain experience working in art magazine publishing.

The opportunity involves assisting the editorial team of the RA Magazine. We are interested in taking on someone who can commit to at least 3 full days each week, preferably more, starting the week of Monday 19th November and staying for the duration of the production of the Spring 2013 issue of the magazine (approximately 1st March).

We reimburse reasonable travel expenses within the M25 to/from work (up to £10 per day) and provide a half-price discount at the RA restaurant (not between 12-2pm), half price at the cafe and 20% discount at the RA Shop. Whilst at the RA, you will be able to access our galleries along with most of the main galleries and museums in London at no cost.

Highly computer literate, expertise in Indesign on Macs is helpful but not essential. A willingness to learn and muck in, close attention to detail, a professional telephone and email manner and a well organised, pragmatic approach to tasks are important.
