Friends & Patrons Events Co-ordinator

The Royal Academy of Arts is one of the UK’s leading art institutions, dedicated to the making, exhibiting and debating of art. We have an exciting opportunity for an exceptional individual to join the RA as our Friends & Patrons Events Co-ordinator.

The Friends & Patrons Events programme offers the RA Friends a range of educational events and excursions throughout the year including coach trips and London-based tours of buildings of architectural, art historical or broader cultural interest. Working closely with the Friends & Patrons Events Manager, this role will be responsible for helping to create and administer the on-going programme as well as accompanying the Friends on many of these events.

The successful candidate must possess at least 2 years’ event organisation experience and will have a flexible approach to working extended hours or the occasional weekend to cover events. Essential qualities required for this role include: strong interpersonal, IT and organisational skills; excellent time-keeping; the confidence to manage large groups of people, and the ability to think on one’s feet, responding quickly and professionally.

Most importantly, the successful candidate will demonstrate a warm, friendly and engaging manner, as well as a genuine interest in the arts.
