Passionate about art? Pass it on…

Schools ShowAs an independent charity, the Royal Academy of Arts receives no government funding, yet we work tirelessly to remain a pioneering organisation at the forefront of the art world.

  • Our education workshops help people of all ages engage with the arts and develop a deeper understanding of the cultural importance of art.
  • Our team of experts work tirelessly to catalogue, preserve and photograph the RA collections – meaning that precious works of art are protected for the future and made accessible to millions via the world wide web.
  • The RA Schools run free post graduate artistic training, encouraging a new generation of artists to follow in the footsteps of the Academicians who teach them.
  • Our Library and archive houses a peerless collection of artistic history and reference material which provides inspiration and reference for artists and art historians as well as the general public.
  • Our curators and exhibition professionals put together awe inspiring exhibitions which linger in the memory of our visitors for generations.

With a gift in your will, you could play a part in helping this fascinating and diverse palette of work to continue and be enjoyed by future generations.

Any gift in your will, large or small, is greatly appreciated and will help us to continue in the tradition of artistic excellence for many years to come.

How your gift could help:

A gift in your will can be a sum of money, a specific item or a share of what is left of your estate after you have provided for your family and friends.

£500 could help us restore a small painting or sculpture so that it can be enjoyed for many years to come.

£900 could pay for paints, canvases and sculpting equipment for one student in the RA Schools for one year.

£5,000 could help us restore a large painting or sculpture thus protecting a piece of our artistic heritage.

£15,000 could pay for a student to receive unparalleled high quality artistic training in the Royal Academy Schools for one year.

£20,000 could cover the costs of equipping and running the Schools workshop for one year – giving the artists of the future access to high quality materials.

As a charity the Royal Academy is exempt from inheritance tax, therefore a gift to the RA could help relieve some of the tax burden from your estate.
