The Royal Academy Trust is a registered charity with Charity Number 1067270. Legacies to charities are usually exempt from inheritance tax, so as well as helping the Royal Academy your gift could also reduce the overall inheritance tax liability on your estate.

In addition to this, if you leave 10% of your taxable estate to charity then your estate may qualify for a reduced rate of inheritance tax at 36% instead of 40%.
