Summer Exhibition 2014
9 June – 17 August

The works are selected and hung by Royal Academicians and entry is open to all artists. In 2013, nearly seventy per cent of the exhibits were by non-Academicians, seventy thousand pounds’ worth of prizes was awarded and over five thousand works were sold.
Digital submission to the 2014 Summer Exhibition
For the first round of the 2014 Summer Exhibition selection process, artists will submit digital photographs of their work online. The judges will shortlist up to 4,000 entries to be delivered to the Academy for a second round.
We hope that this new process, which has been used for architecture and sculpture judging in the past, will make submitting a work a simpler process for artists.
How to enter
On 6 January, we will launch a dedicated website where you will be able to open an online account, enter the details of your artworks, upload digital images and submit your completed entry alongside the handling fee. We will send notifications to you by email, but you will also be able to monitor the progress of your submission by visiting your online account at any time.
You will be able to enter one or two works, for a handling charge of £25 per work, payable online by credit or debit card.
The deadline for purchasing and submitting your entry online, including images, is midnight on Friday 14 February.
However, we encourage you to enter as soon as possible as the number of submissions will be capped at 12,000. This is in line with the upper level of entries we have received in previous years. The cap is designed to help the new system run effectively.
Help and guidance
If you would like to be notified by email when the entry form goes on sale, please send an email to EntryForm@royalacademy.org.uk.
Please read our FAQ document if you have any questions about the process. For specific questions on the process not answered in the document, please get in touch with us at email@example.com.
Because we are a small team, we are afraid we can only promise to respond to your email within 14 days.
