The Starr Scholarship

RA Schools prospectus 2009The Starr Scholarship is available to American artists for a residency at the Royal Academy Schools. The tenure lasts for one academic year, and provides the recipient with living expenses and a studio located in the Schools. The Starr Scholar is also given the opportunity to contribute to seminars, lectures and artists’ talks.

The closing date for applications for the Starr Scholarship is Friday 8 May 2009.

Applicants for the Starr Scholarship must submit

  • a curriculum vitae
  • a one-paragraph statement
  • an academic reference
  • sixteen 35mm slides of recent work (submitted mounted in a simple plastic folder) or powerpoint on CD
  • $30 processing fee
