The RA Schools is remarkable for being an independent art school that enables students to develop their practice on a three year full time post-graduate fine art course, without having to pay fees. It is Britain’s oldest art school, having been founded with the Royal Academy in 1768.

Since 2009, internationally renowned artists have been invited into the Schools’ workshops to make new prints alongside some of the most promising postgraduate art students in the country.

This is a uniquely stimulating environment for all involved; students experience the creation of the artist’s work from conception to completion, whilst the artists themselves are often working on new projects in the medium of print for the first time. It is this bringing together of established and emerging artists within the Schools, and the energy that these collaborations generate, that makes the co-publications in the RA Editions collection so special.
