Video: Bringing dance to the RA's Courtyard

Dance and architecture seem like very different disciplines, so how can one respond to the other? The choreographer Katie Green rose to the challenge with her recent commission for the Royal Academy's Courtyard, a site-specific dance in and around Chris Wilkinson RA's architectural installation 'From Landscape to Portrait'.

The resulting performance was inspired both by the geometry and rhythms of the installation and by the heritage of the Royal Academy itself. If you weren't able to see the dance in person, you can catch up with some highlights in the video below, in which Chris Wilkinson and Katie Green discuss the ideas and planning that went into creating it:
