Coat-hanger crucifixion installed in Southwark Cathedral for Lent

David Mach RA is well known for his sculptural appropriation of everyday materials (coat hangers, match heads and scrabble tiles) and for his large-scale collages. Both featured in 'Precious Light', a major exhibition by the artist in Edinburgh last year that marked the 400th anniversary of the King James Bible.

Mach's current installation in Southwark Cathedral, Die Harder, was first shown in 'Precious Light' and the 20-foot crucifixion is on display until Good Friday.
