'Gary Hume: Flashback' at The Jerwood Gallery

Gary Hume: Flashback is a touring exhibition from the Arts Council Collection. It features works by the Royal Academician ranging from early in his career to the present day, and is currently on show at The Jerwood Gallery in Hastings.

The Flashback series showcases internationally renowned British artists whose works were acquired by the Collection early on in their careers. Hume is the third artist to be featured, following on from Bridget Riley and Anish Kapoor RA.

In the video above, Gary Hume describes the experience of seeing the early works juxtaposed with the new, and talks about his approach to painting, sculpture and colour.
