Published in association with the current exhibition at the Royal Academy, 6 Burlington Gardens, this book reflects upon the relationship between our physical covering and constructed personal environments, our individual and social identities and the contexts in which we live.
It looks at the role of clothing in cultural and personal stories, issues of belonging, nationality and political and social confrontation. The artists and designers represented in the exhibition and book include:
