Blood, Bone and Genius
Benjamin Robert Haydon, historical painter, in his own words
Friday 22 and Saturday 30 June
This book is a picture of human life… of that mysterious, incomprehensible, singular bit of blood, bottom, bone and genius, BR Haydon!
July 8, 1820

Benjamin Robert Haydon (1786-1848), Anatomical drawing of the hand, 1805. Black and red ink with grey, red, brown and blue washes.
Haydon’s diary is the most entertaining, vainglorious and ultimately tragic document of the Romantic period. To complement the display in the Tennant Room, Robert Lloyd Parry brings the artist’s raging prose back to life in a new one man show based on these extraordinary journals.
In the historic life-drawing room of the Royal Academy Schools; 7.30pm; £10/£8 students (incl. wine)
Tickets available from Scudamores on 01223 359750
