Boys With Reflections

Family Workshops
Wednesdays and Fridays from 23 July
Take part in a family workshop in the Summer Exhibition, comprising an introductory talk and practical hands-on session.

This free printed guidesheet for 8- to 13-year-olds leads a trail around the Summer Exhibition, encouraging close observation and responses to work. Read more

Younger sleuths use this guide to solve riddles and discover selected works of art in the Summer Exhibition. Read more

Art Trays
Designed to encourage the artist in everyone, these activity trays for young visitors and their families are used in the Galleries to create works of art inspired by the Summer Exhibition. Worksheets and sketchbooks for every child available daily.

Free Dance Performance and Talks
Embodied Energy: Surface Tension
Friday 11 July
Dancers from the Place use a series of flexible, sustainable structures designed by the RA President’s firm, Grimshaw, in a unique collaborative performance choreographed by Katie Green.
RA Courtyard; 6.30pm & 8pm; free

Talks take place in the Summer Exhibition Architecture Room and the Architecture Space about the relationship between movement, space, performance and architecture. Part of the London Festival of Architecture 2008.
Scheduled at intervals throughout the evening; free

The Summer Exhibition provides access to visually impaired people with touchable sculptures with Braille labels. To book a one-to-one guided tour, contact the Access Officer. Large-print gallery guides are available.

Led by Naomi Kendrick we explore selected sculptures from the Summer Exhibition through touch, and create music inspired by these works using movement with specialised music equipment.
