British violinist/composer Clare Connors has worked with David Byrne, Spiritualised, Dagmar Krause, Keith Tippett and Michael Nyman, and her music has been used in films across the world. She brings her own project for string trio to LJF, inspired by Carla Bley’s works for big band. Featuring Thomas Toms (violin) and Nick Cooper (cello), the trio will reinvent Bley’s distinctive orchestrations through the sounds of a small string ensemble, with dramatic effect.
The itinerary for the evenings will be as follows:
6.20pm – Doors will open
7pm – Performance starts
7.45pm – Interval
8pm – Performance resumes
8.45pm – End

Please note: Entry to this event will be granted at 6.20pm. Exhibitions, shop and RA restaurant close at 6pm on Saturdays. No concessionary rate. This ticket is not part of the Friends of the Royal Academy subscription. Friends must purchase the ticket for the full price of £7. Complimentary drink consists of a choice of gin and tonic, ginger beer or Sicilian lemonade.
