Senior Architect Academician and past President of the Royal Academy, Sir Philip Dowson, discusses with Charles Jencks how he came to architecture through maths, science, engineering and then through art, and how the marrying of these disciplines came to inform his architecture. He describes his experiences of working with the engineer Ove Arup and the establishment of Arup Associates.
