Executive Assistant to the Director of Exhibitions

Its public programme promotes the creation, study and enjoyment of art to a wide range of audiences through exhibitions, education and debate.

An exciting and rare opportunity for an exceptional individual has arisen to join the Academy as the Executive Assistant to the Director of Exhibitions. The purpose of this role is to facilitate the smooth running of the day-to-day activities of the Director of Exhibitions.

The successful candidate will have at least 5 years’ experience in a senior administrative or personal assistant role. They will have well-honed organisational skills, excellent attention to detail, accuracy, sound judgement, strong logistical ability, first class drafting skills and a good sense of initiative.

Highly computer literate (ideally MS version 2010), a touch typist, applicants must be able to take and produce high quality meeting minutes, organise complex travel arrangements, manage the Director’s expenses along with an electronic library filing system to allow immediate retrieval of key documentation.

Calm and solution-orientated, the successful candidate plans ahead, is able to predict and overcomes obstacles, and maintains a flexible approach to their work. Discreet, loyal, diplomatic, friendly and approachable, this position requires someone with excellent interpersonal skills to build and sustain strong working relationships with colleagues and external agencies and individuals.
