Eating and drinking
A visit to the RA is not complete without taking at least a brief pause to enjoy some of the wide range of food and drinks on offer: from a quick coffee to a light lunch, an evening of cocktails or a full formal dinner.
The Keeper's House
Offering a more formal dining experience, our lower ground floor restaurant is a stunning setting for lunch or dinner where dramatic classical casts adorn the walls and beautiful spherical lamps set the mood.
Our creative menu of the finest seasonal ingredients, created by executive chef Oliver Couillaud, and impeccable service make this the first choice for guests treating friends and family or meeting with business associates.
The Shenkman Bar
Found on the lower floor, the Shenkman Bar, which opens up into the Keeper's Garden, features an ever changing cocktail menu designed by our resident mixologists.
Whatever your mood our experienced bar tenders will be able to recommend the perfect cocktail. For pre and post exhibition viewing, our menu of bar snacks caters to all tastes.
The Keeper's Garden
In the warmer months of the year, you can escape into the garden at the Keeper’s House, which can be found through the Shenkman Bar on the lower ground floor.
It has been designed by renowned landscaper Tom Stuart-Smith, who has created his personal vision of an art oasis.
The garden houses our very own “fifth plinth” and for the first year we have Michael Craig-Martin’s Garden Fork taking the centre stage.
The Restaurant at the RA
by Peyton and Byrne
Flexible all-day dining from restaurateur Oliver Peyton, located on the ground floor of Burlington House. Featuring a specially designed menu that makes full use of prime British ingredients, in keeping with the history of the restaurant. As well as a traditional à la carte menu, the restaurant offers a selection of small plates and terrines, offering diners the flexibility to enjoy a two or three course meal, order tapas-style or drop by for a quick but delicious bite.
Please note: The Restaurant at the RA will be closed for refurbishment from Monday 25 August. The Keeper's House will be open to the public at all normal opening times from this date.
