InPerson at the RA
InPerson at the RA is a programme of events for everyone and their supporters. It is an arts club for everyone, for individuals who need additional support and their friends. InPerson events are held on Friday nights between 6 and 8pm. These events include entry to current exhibitions and refreshments, as well as a different activity each meeting.
Our most recent InPerson event on Friday 9 November was ‘Art Jam’ led by David Johnson and Carlo Keshishian. The session involved participants collaborating to create drawings, collages, sculptures and music together.

On Friday 10 February Jazz Funk ensemble
'Principle 3' led this
soundscapes workshop,
where participants could translate their experiences into pastel drawings.
Our first event was a
life-drawing class.
Held on Friday 19 August, this class was a great success.
"Thanks for the absolutely fantastic time we had at the Access for all event for the David Hockney exhibition on February 10th. The people in our group who have learning disabilities were treated by your volunteers with consideration and kindness, and really enjoyed the event. I have no hesitation in saying it will probably be the highspot of 2012 for them."

"Thank you and the Royal Academy for a fantastic, varied and fun evening last Friday. The warm and generous welcome with liquid refreshment was greatly appreciated. Principle 3 were amazing and it was a delight to have the opportunity to make music with them. We also enjoyed the art workshop and to cap it all you allowed us to visit the David Hockney exhibition. A wonderful experience and a fabulous feast of culture.
Thank you for all that you do to facilitate access to art for visually impaired people. Access programmes such as yours makes a great difference to the quality of life of people with disabilities."
