The Royal Academy is an independent arts organisation that unlike many other UK galleries receives no government funding. A lot of work, time and money go into the realisation of all exhibitions, and it is vital to the future of the Royal Academy and the exhibitions that it presents, that we are able to raise substantial funds from sources other than entrance charges.
Your support as a Friend is invaluable; however there are other ways of supporting us too.
Become a Patron of the RA

RA Patrons enjoy a close relationship with the artists, curators and educators of the Royal Academy. In return for an annual membership, our Patrons become involved with life at the RA through a programme of special events, including intimate curated tours of all exhibitions, visits behind the scenes of the Academy and the studios of our Royal Academicians, and exclusive events at other museums and galleries.
Patrons support all of the activities of the Academy, from our world-class exhibition programme and historic collection of British art to the RA Schools and our public education programme. Patrons can join at several levels, and can choose one of three groups, RA Patrons, Schools Patrons or Contemporary Patrons, depending on their particular interests. Our Patrons play a vital role in the success and growth of the Royal Academy as an independent arts institution, and we are extremely grateful for their support.
If you would like more information about the Patrons programme at the Royal Academy please contact us on 020 7300 5703. Full information about the programme is also available at the Royal Academy website, www.royalacademy.org.uk/support
Leave your Legacy to the RA

A legacy or a bequest is the most personal gift that you can give to us. Legacy gifts have always been instrumental in building and preserving the Academy’s remarkable history, giving us the necessary, additional financial support we need.
Through a legacy you can make a direct and lasting contribution to our exhibition programmes, to the Royal Academy Schools and to our Permanent Collection.
Whatever you can give, you can make a real difference by remembering the Royal Academy in your Will. Please consider leaving a legacy in your Will to the Royal Academy of Arts.
