_{RA Outreach Programme. Photo: Alex Howe. © Royal Academy of Arts, London.} As an independent charity, everything we do; the exhibitions, the postgraduate courses for young artists at the RA Schools, the public workshops, lectures and debates – we do without revenue funding from the government.

Instead, we rely on the generosity of people who support the principle on which we were founded over 240 years ago: to provide a strong, clear voice for art and artists. It is this independence that gives us a unique place in the world of art. By leaving us a gift in your will, you will be helping to protect an
organisation which has been, and remains, an inspiration to countless generations of artists and art lovers.
