Step back in time and see what life was like at the Royal Academy 60 years ago in this display of photographs on the Norman Shaw staircase by the restaurant.

The photographer Russell Westwood captured the RA at work. Fashions may have changed but some traditions haven’t – from life drawing lessons in the RA Schools and security guards manning the West Yard, to members of the public lining up with their entries for the Summer Exhibition.
