Exclusive Film Screening: ‘Summer in February’ at the Royal Academy of Arts

To celebrate the launch of the film ‘Summer in February’ the Royal Academy of Arts has teamed up with Metrodome, to invite you to an exclusive film screening in the stunning galleries of the Summer Exhibition on Saturday 15 June 2013 at 7pm.
Summer Exhibition Edits
A series in which a variety of speakers present edited highlights of this year’s Summer Exhibition. Meet in Central Hall, Summer Exhibition; 7–7.30pm; free with exhibition ticket (no booking required).
Marisa J. Futernick
(Friday 14 June)
Artist Marisa J. Futernick (RA Schools) leads a tour focusing on five works within the exhibition that have captured her imagination. Please note the earlier time of 2.30pm for this tour, due to the RA closing at 5pm that day.

Artist and cookery guru Sue Kreitzman leads a tour focusing on five works within the exhibition that have piqued her interest.
Photography Workshop
Summer in the City: Street Photography
(Saturday 29 June)
Professional photographer Roy Matthews leads this workshop in successfully capturing street imagery, specially timed to coincide with the 2013 Pride in London Parade. Comprising a practical session on the street, followed by a critique at the RA, this workshop is designed for all abilities and camera types (although digital is preferred for immediate image review on the day).
Annual Architecture Lecture
Eduardo Souto de Moura
(Monday 8 July)
Eduardo Souto de Moura is an architect of extraordinary formal and material sensitivity. From his Braga Stadium, the Paula Rêgo Museum to numerous effortlessly refined private houses, Souto de Moura’s buildings weave together evocative resonances of people, place and memory in a poetically abstract language of surface and form. Professor at the Porto School of Architecture, where he had himself studied while working with Álvaro Siza, Souto de Moura was awarded the Pritzker Prize in 2011.

A-level Summer Exhibition Online 2013
10 June – 18 August
The A-level Summer Exhibition Online 2013 showcases the best of A-level art in the UK. This is the only online exhibition in the UK for secondary-school students at A level. This year, the exhibition is curated from a shortlist by a panel of judges including Tess Jaray RA.
