Non-Members Varnishing Day, 3 June
Formerly the day for selected artists to put the finishing touches to ther artworks, this is now a day of celebration that begins with a steel band in the courtyard, a procession to St James's Piccadilly for a church service and finally a party in the Galleries for all exhibiting artists.
Summer Exhibition Preview Party
This star-studded affair and marks the official opening of the Royal Academy's Summer Exhibition. It is the Royal Academy's most significant fundraising event of the year, with all proceeds raised from the sale of tickets and artworks providing income for the Academy's entirely self-funded Exhibitions and Schools programme.
