Schools ShowThe annual Schools Show marks the culmination of the three-year post-graduate Diploma course at the Royal Academy Schools.

The show, which sees the transformation of the RA Schools studios into a stunning contemporary gallery space, provides visitors with a rare opportunity to view exceptional work from an ambitious generation of international artists that rigorously questions what it means to be producing visual art in 2009.

The students exhibiting in the show include: Caline Aoun, Joanna Bryniarska, Peter Busk, Nicola Carvell, Timothy Ellis, Nick Goss, Eemyun Kang, Julian King, Alex Knell, Alana Lake, Robert Leech, Jack Newling, Robert Pratt, Benjamin Pritchard, Catherine Story, Katherine Thomas, Barbara Wolff and Maria Zahle. The spectrum of work this year ranges from luscious expressive painting, through graphic pop sculpture to darkly ominous photography.

The Royal Academy Schools is a leading centre for the postgraduate study of fine art, run by artists for artists, and offering the only three-year, full time postgraduate course in fine art in the UK. Established in 1768 as an integral element of the Royal Academy, the Schools’ distinguished heritage provides a unique environment and a rich setting in which the students can develop their individual practices, each tightly knit year-group adding a new chapter to the Schools' history and the possibilities of contemporary art making.
