Part of Event Horizon

7-9pm (approx)

A participatory performance dedicated to the Venus de Milo. Young ladies have been invited to ‘lend their arms’ to the accompaniment of live musicians in this joyous celebration in praise of beauty.

“Come, stranger, unclothe yourself. Place the apple Paris gave me on your palm. Put your bare arms across my naked body. Lend me your arms for one moment of time, perhaps for eternity.” – David Medalla 2008

Also screening will be Manila Bay with David by Jon Cuyson, Dominic Mangila, Ivan Sarenas, and Rafael Laurel. A re-imagining of David Medalla's painting and prose-poem Night Fishing on Manila Bay, currently exhibited in Event Horizon, an exquisite corpse of delicately balanced memory, recollection, and aesthetic influence creates a layered dialogue stretching from London to Manila to New York in this filmwork of poetic vignettes.
