David Blamey (Unaffiliated) & Craig Richards (Fabric): Quiet Please

10 January 2009

In the Cinema, 6 Burlington Gardens

Part One: 3-4pm
Part Two: 5-6pm

An otherworldly sonic collaboration that blurs the boundary between art and a DJ experience. Contemplative, sedative and alarming, Quiet Please comprises two one-hour performances of multi-layered sound and instrumentation that will goad the audience in and out of sleep.

"Occasionally I have given a lecture somewhere or another and noticed that people in the audience have fallen asleep. Instead of take offence I’ve always been rather in awe. It’s a pleasant feeling to doze off while something else is going around you and I imagine, the more inappropriate the setting the more heightened is the effect." - Blamey

"Normally I service late-night party people with my own particular blend of sonic stimulation. Here lies an entirely different proposition where the sound generated allows slumber to flourish in perfect harmony with the wandering mind." - Richards
