Ash Dome, 2009. Mixed media
David Nash planted Ash Dome in the Ffestiniog Valley in Wales in 1977. This conceptual work both affirms the artist’s faith in an uncertain future and establishes an outdoor sculpture that is ‘genuinely of its place’. These recent drawings, executed on site, have an immediacy that captures this living monument to the twenty-first century and call for a long-term plan to address climate change.
