To celebrate Pioneering Painters: The Glasgow Boys (1880-1900), the Royal Academy and Albannach are giving you the chance to win one of five pairs of tickets to a Whisky Masterclass at Albannach.
Set on Trafalgar Square, London, Albannach comprises a dramatic ground floor restaurant and bar, mezzanine restaurant, private dining room, and a striking vaulted cocktail bar and live music club. Albannach offers a great British seasonal menu, but is probably best known for one of the greatest collections of single malt whiskies in the UK. Specially selected by whisky sommeliers and advised by ‘Keepers of the Quaich’, the malts hail from all four corners of Scotland and her Isles.

An Introduction to Scotch Whisky: 1.5 hrs
Learn the basics of whisky tasting and production in this 90-minute introduction to single-malt Scotch. Albannach’s whisky sommelier will begin with a brief history of whisky distilling, guide you through the processes of whisky production, and take you on a tasting tour of every region in Scotland. Students will learn how to nose and taste whisky with the aid of Dave Broom’s famous Single Malt Flavour Map.
The course will include light canapés, and a flight of six whiskies.
