Name: Sandra Wanyin Leung

School: Luckley Oakfield School

Town: Wokingham

County: Berkshire

Year: Year 12

Inspiration: I am Sandra Leung which people call me Sandy. Art is my favorite subject among all of my courses. I have started doing art since three years old. I have done collectively a great variety of different types of art such as printmaking, life drawing, Chinese painting, oil painting, etc. Visiting art galleries is my hobby. This is one of the ways that I get inspirations. Starry Night, 1889 by Van Gogh, the mark makings seems really similar to the cutting marks from lino. Since then I started my interest on printmaking. Besides that, my attention to impressionism is initiated. Most style of my works is impressionism. The colours represent my emotions and my passion towards art. My first printmaking is done when I was in year 7. Although it was not a great piece of work, it encouraged me to do research and to appreciate other artists’ work. By reading Wildlife In Printmaking by Carry Akroyd, I recognized the birds’ prints by Robert Gillmor and I really appreciate the prints. So I designed and did one with my own style.
