Title: The Juxtaposition of Disgusting Imagery and Decorative Media

Description: For this piece, it was mainly Lisa Nilsson’s intricate quillings that inspired me. I really admire her time-consuming style of working, but it was also the contrast between the media she chose to work in and the images she chose to depict that really appealed to me. Embroidery is often associated with portraying twee country cottages and pretty flowers. I thought it would be interesting to juxtapose this medium with the fleshy and often grotesque imagery of the lamb’s heart.
