Inspiration: I have always enjoyed working in variety of media for art, I find that some I can go into more depth with and explore my creativity with. I am very much influenced by nature and history as I find this fascinating, I often see patterns in nature and links with human qualities. One of my favorite every project that inspired me was metamorphosis in which I explored the ways that humans aged and how I could reflect this through plants and natural objects from seeds until they had withered and died. I find starting with quotes very influential and do with most of my projects and try to represent what the words mean through communicating with art. My recent project that I am currently exploring is “Nursery Rhyme”. I am finding this extremely interesting because I am exploring the ‘Sing a Song of Sixpence’ rhyme and tracing it back through history. I find this influential because it brings about the unknown reasoning’s behind many modern stories and items. I am especially interested in artists that use a variety of different media with the most influential being ones who use stitch, ink, texture, suspense and fabric.

Title: Ink & Bleach Washing Line

Description: I then went on to explore some of the other factors within the rhyme and I explored the part in the rhyme which goes ‘The maid was in the garden hanging out the clothes, When down came a blackbird and pecked off her nose’. I represent some of that imagery in my piece of art. I created a miniature washing line out of string in which I placed multiple pegs onto. I decided that after my photo edits I would create pieces that had darker connotations and it leads us to imagine the maid after hanging the washing out on it. I decided that the best media to use here was ink & bleach as it gives subtle blurry qualities which add to the overall effect of the artwork.
