Name: Declan Dawkins
School: Barton Peveril Sixth Form College
Town: Eastleigh
County: Hampshire
Year: Year 12
Inspiration: I am a 17 year old student from Barton Peveril Southampton, studying Film, Media, English and Moving Image. I produce short films and do photography as a hobby, as I hope one day to make a career out of it. I produced this film for my As Film Studies Coursework, being greatly inspired by Christopher Nolan's use of colour correction and depth of field in 'Memento', and the use of smooth tracking shots being a subject, by Devin Graham, in a number of his films. I also wanted to create something enigmatic that withholds information until the very end. For this I was inspired by Susan Hill's 'Woman in Black' most prominently.
Title: A Walk to Remember
Description: A short film about a Woman of age, reflecting about her past decisions and who has wrote a letter to a past love, to explain what happened, and what went wrong. It is very enigmatic, as we never know anything about the two characters. My film has key themes of love, loss and confusion.
