Title: Grapes
Description: The inspiration for this piece I found in social inequalities in Serbia. After my visit to Tracy Emin's exhibition in Margate, inspired by one of her sculptures I got the idea of elevating object to emphasize the disparities between rich and poor. The reason why I chose grapes came from my interest in Ancient Roman history where the masters were fed by their slaves who dropped the grapes into their mouths. Even though we cannot physically see a person from the lower social class in this piece, however this piece is presented through the eyes of person from that social class. My aim was to use the power of perspective to make the observer look at this piece from the angle of person from lower class.
