Name: Natalie Ioannou
School: Ashmole Academy
Year: Year 12
Inspiration: My name is Natalie and the main thing that influences me is my father, everything about him makes me want to go on and achieve great things. He has left me the goal to make him proud and with my art i try to show his life and how it impacts me. I try to include something or other that reminds me of him so i can picture him smiling at me like a proud father would. My father is my major influence as he passed away not so long ago and my job is to live his memory on.
Title: The life of Chris 1958-2011
Description: This piece expresses the life my father had. It includes objects such as: cigarettes, sweets, book, tie, roses, mug, cinnamon sticks, money, matches and sweet rappers. They are all objects that my dad loved and remind me of him. I have covered them in plaster and modroc to emphasise the idea of preservation and preserving memories, never forgetting them. The image shows a distinctive shadow in the background, this also emphasises that the memories of my father will always live on, even if it is in the distant background. I have also painted the art work white to present the purity of the objects and how much they mean to both me and my father.
Medium: every day objects covered in both plaster and modroc
Width: 77cm Height: 77cm Depth: 77cm
