Inspiration: I enjoy textiles and photography, but my main interest is photography – I like capturing moments and images that would normally disappear in a blink. My main influences are Martin Parr and Andreas Gursky – I use bright colours and interesting compositions similar to Martin Parr, but the size and scale of lots of my work is in the style of Andreas Gursky. I experiment with the size of my photographs. I like the techniques of collage/décollage, I have tried this method out by physically making collages with rubbish and old tube tickets, and I also tried décollage on Photoshop, so, was digitally creating a collage, by removing parts of the top photo to reveal another. The subjects that I enjoy photographing are urban and natural landscapes and how they decay or change over time (time of day, or over a period of time), I also like to photograph people in their day-to-day lives in and around London – the best shots come from people that are unaware – like a fly on the wall photo because you get people looking natural and un-posed rather than photographs of ‘models’ in studios etc.
