Inspiration: For my project I was exploring the theme of female stereotypes. I was influenced by the work of Cindy Sherman, particularly her images of female representations that raise questions of female identity. This allows the viewer to challenge the stereotype.
Title: Untitled
Description: Here I was exploring female identity and representation. I placed doll house furniture and props in front of a TV screen that had film stills of well-known female characters. I hoped this would enhance the image of the female stereotype. Holly Golightly in 'Breakfast at Tiffany's' is an idealised, unrealistic character as she spends her time shopping and going to parties without having to work. This is enhanced by the doll house furniture, which is also a 'perfect' image, but not one that applies to reality. This I hope raises questions on the representation of women.
