Description: My first two images relate to my chosen theme ‘colour theory’ as I have a fascination for our interaction with colour and its visual and psychological power. To do so, I based myself on Hans Hofmann as well as Albers´work. Hans Hoffman combined Cubist structures and intense Fauvist colour with which he explored pictorial structures and the relationships of the tones used. After making several studies, I made two paintings on canvas comprising of geometric shapes based on everyday objects. I combined these with my knowledge of colour theory to allow the creation of pictorial spaces in which the use of colour creates depth.
